As we mentioned yesterday, to commemorate the 52nd World Day of Social Communications, the Pope made his own adaptation of the "Prayer of St. Francis".
With this prayer, the Pope strongly reaffirms the urgent need for widespread reflection on the "fake-news" phenomenon and how we all have the responsibility to ensure that we don’t spread prejudices or increase fear through our use of social media, and the use of fake news.
I have for you now, that prayer presented by the staff here at Salt and Light TV. Have a look.
In the spirit of Pope’s message for the World Day of Social Communications that was released yesterday, the Vatican communications department has recently made major changes to its organization and streamlined processes to better ensure the clear, truthful and concise reporting on the Pope, the Vatican, the Church, and the World. The Vatican’s Prefect of the Secretariat for Communication explains the reform process of the Vatican communications and what we can expect to see from them in the near future.
Last week, during the 2018 March for Life Rally in Washington DC, over 500 college knights of the Knight of Columbus were present and distributed over 5000 signs, that were seen throughout the rally and on national TV.
The Knights of Columbus have been a witness to life since the very beginning of the rally in 1974. They have been present and supported this event every year for the past 44 years.
I have for you now, some images from that event in Washington through the eyes of the Knights and how they are campaigning to save 1 million unborn lives through their special ultrasound initiative.
Through the Ultrasound Initiative, state and local Knights of Columbus councils have teamed up with the Supreme Council to fund over 752 ultrasound machines, costing over $36 million, for placement in pro-life pregnancy care centers throughout the US, in Canada, Guatemala, Jamaica, and Peru. If you’d like more information on the program, or how you can get involved, you can visit their website listed below.
And that is all that we have time for this week. Join us again on Monday when I bring you the latest news and stories through the perspectives of a Catholic lens.
